This directory data related to running scattering calculations. Major part is
single scattering data for different types of (well-defined) scattering particles.

H2O_liquid/*.xml

- single scattering data (*.um.xml) and corresponding meta data (*um.meta.xml)
- liquid water particles (e.g. for Earth liquid clouds and rain)
- range of sizes (0.1-10,000um), all assumed as spheres
- data created by ARTS developers using atmlab routines (Maetzler's matlab Mie code; dielectric property routines)
- for more details data headers

H2O_ice/*.xml

- set of directions/angles (polar and azimuth angles) for FOS calculations
  (radiation path directions)
- directions are equally distributed over the sphere, each representing a solid
  angle of 4Pi/360 sr
